And the strike goes on

With negotiations between players and club owners at a stalemate, hope for a quick resolution to the baseball strike, begun June 12, has all but evaporated. Representatives of the two groups met for just 10 minutes last Friday in a bargaining effort called "a charade" by federal mediator Kenneth Moffett. "I see a waiting game -- a long waiting game," said Moffett, who indicated he would not call another session u ntil there was some sign of movement by either side.
