Tehran executes 60 foes in revenge for gun battle

Iranian authorities took revenge for street battles by executing 60 opponents Tuesday after trials as brief as 15 minutes, and Tehran's revolutionary prosecutor said nine-year-old children could be executed if proved "grown enough."

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian leader was killed in a grenade attack by a leftist Mujahideen guerilla in the northeastern city of Mashhad, the official Pars New Agency reported. it said Hojatolislam Abdelkarim Hashemi Nejad, a member of parliament, died when a man walked up to him during a public meeting and detonated a grenade.
