The space shuttle Columbia has a new blastoff scheduled for 7:30 Thursday morning, officials having decided that it only needed an oil change. The oil problem prevented launching last Wednesday, when two hydraulic system engines developed oil pressure trouble seconds before blastoff. So with just an oil and filter change, Columbia will try again to see if a used spaceship works as well as a brand new one. Columbia is designed to make 100 round trips in orbit.
The abbreviated countdown is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Eastern standard time Tuesday and head for a 7:30 a.m. blastoff two days later.
