Mayors meet to draft national recovery plan

Mayors of 17 major American cities met with labor and business leaders Monday to draft a national economic recovery plan.

The municipal executives, members of the US Conference of Mayors, were meeting ''not to challenge the administration, but to assist it,'' said a spokesman for the conference. Thirteen of the mayors attending are Democrats.
