Opposition leaders called for the resignation of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi , saying her party's election losses in two key states showed she had lost the trust of the nation.

The state's main city, Hyderabad, was reported quiet following clashes between Hindus and Muslims. Eleven people have died in violence in Hyderabad since assembly elections Jan. 5 .
