Economic par for women sought in Washington bill

Bipartisan supporters introduced a bill in Congress to reduce economic discrimination against women. The bill, called the Economic Equity Act, would prohibit discrimination based on sex in insurance payments and policies and would require pension fund payments to widows and divorced spouses. It also calls for stronger enforcement of child support laws. The bill would accomplish many of the aims of the proposed Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution.
