Black nationalists vow new attacks on S. Africa

Black nationalist leader Oliver Tambo vowed Wednesday to step up guerrilla attacks in South Africa despite Mozambique's agreement to curb support for his forces. Mr. Tambo, president of the outlawed African National Congress (ANC), told a news conference, ''We will find a way to intensify our struggle. If we are left to stand alone and fight alone, then that is what we shall do.''

In his first substantive comment on the accord, Mr. Tambo refused to condemn Mozambique for signing the pact, which binds it to ending logistic support for the ANC and preventing ANC forces from entering South Africa from Mozambique. ''The leadership in Mozambique was forced to choose between life and death. They chose life,'' Tambo said.
