2 Salvadorean rightists assigned to foreign posts

The Salvadorean army announced Thursday it is sending two top military men to posts abroad. Military sources said it was part of an effort to remove rightists believed to be linked with death squads.

A communique from the Armed Forces Press Committee said Col. Nicolas Carranza , director of the Treasury Police, is being sent to West Germany as defense attache, and Lt. Col. Mario Denis Moran will go to the US Defense College in Washington. Moran now commands the Army Engineering Center in La Paz province.

Both men have been linked in published reports to rightist death squad activities. Published reports, including one in the Monitor, have said Mr. Carranza was being paid by the US Central Intelligence Agency. He has denied the accusations.
