Two key Israeli factions throw support to Labor

Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir's hopes to stay in office dimmed Tuesday as two key fringe factions threw their support behind the Labor Party's Shimon Peres to head the next government.

Talks resumed yesterday between Mr. Shamir's Likud and Labor on forming a joint government of ''national unity.'' Both sides say the negotiations have been showing progress
