Marat Gramov said that although the Friendship '84 Games were not designed to compete with the Olympics, ''In Moscow there were 18 world records and in Los Angeles only 11. Forty-five Olympic records were broken in Los Angeles and during Friendship '84 there were 47.''

He declined to say whether the Soviet Union will take part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

The Friendship '84 Games concluded last night with the basketball finals.
