Firefighters in Montana battle four lingering blazes
Scaled-down firefighting forces battled four remaining Montana timber fires during the weekend, but officials warned that dry weather could create conditions like that of last week, when 250,000 acres were scorched and about 40 homes and buildings destroyed. Unexpected rain and cool weather developed last week, helping to halt the spread of the fires.
