GE displays model of new jet at an international air show

The 120-passenger airliner of the future may be powered by a propfan jet engine with a set of eight or more contra-rotating propellers that look like shark fins. General Electric unveiled a mockup of the design, called UDF, for ''unducted fan,'' at the Farnborough International Air Show herelast weekend.
