Duarte has strong hopes for talks with guerrillas

President Jose Napoleon Duarte of El Salvador expressed strong hopes Tuesday for peace after talks with guerrilla leaders. Mr. Duarte said he had been impressed by the guerrilla leaders with whom he talked Monday in the northern town of La Palma. He said the two sides had made a thorough analysis of the problems of the country and established a mixed commission to continue discussions.
