Celtics pride

DIE-HARD Boston Celtics fans are like Harvard men: You can always tell them, even if you can't tell them much. One thing you can't tell them is that they should look at scenery, if the alternative is listening to their favorite basketball team's playoff game. The other day in the White Mountains we spotted a Celtics fan perched atop a boulder with breathtaking panorama of purple mountain majesties. Any normal person would have been drinking in the view: He couldn't even see it. He was sitting with back to the scenery, entranced in his portable radio's crackling of the Celtics' latest playoff game.

Maybe it would have been different if the mountains had been named after Cousy, Russell, and Bird, instead of just a bunch of Presidents.
