'The Art of Glass'

Jewels of Light and Quiet

More than 100 works from the Corning Museum of Glass are part of an exhibit at the IBM Gallery of Science and Art in New York which traces the history of glassmaking. Included are blown-glass vessels from Roman times, 15th-century Venetian glass, a glass table from Imperial Russia, and many examples of modern design. The exhibit will be on display in New York until Feb. 3, and in Washington, D.C., at the National Gallery of Art, from Dec. 2, 1990, until March 17, 1991.
