FRIDAY Destination Mozart: A Night at the Opera With Peter Sellars (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): Its over-achieving title aside, this documentary offers a useful inside look at how today's most hotly debated stage director makes Mozart ``modern'' - e.g., `Don Giovanni' set in the South Bronx - without getting ridiculous about it. Well, maybe he does get ridiculous. See what you think: PBS will be airing three Sellars-staged productions, starting with `The Marriage of Figaro' on Saturday, Dec. 15. SUNDAY Sinatra 75: The Best Is Yet to Come (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): Face it, Frank Sinatra is now 75 - an anniversary celebrated by an impressive roster of stars in this salute to a singer who easily ranks among a small handful of our generation's greatest pop artists. His long, dramatic, sometimes troubled career is recapped with first-time clips.

TUESDAY Frontline (9-10 p.m.): In `The Spirit of Crazy Horse,' correspondent Milo Yellow Hair tells the history of his people, the Lakotas - or Sioux, as most whites call these native Americans. It runs from the days of unbowed buffalo-hunting warriors and tough women, through the Wounded Knee massacre - now nearing its 100th anniversary - to the Lakotas' present struggle to revive their heritage. Carols From Prague (A&E cable, 10-11 p.m.): President Vaclav Havel shares a historic occasion as Czech singers, orchestras, and surviviors of past oppression celebrate Eastern Europe's first free Christmas in more than 40 years.
