Jubilation HLFor my grandson

Shaking music from the jingles on his toy tambourine, a drumlet without a snare in the shape of a bear, Colby cockles the silken surface of our Sabbath silence and rides out the bedroom door on a wave of percussion. Winkled from sleep by the jamboree, we join the march, prancing and praising like baptized pilgrims in a pond, glad to hear the transcendental music. In Israel, the day he seized a bear by its beard to save his sheep, David's heart sang like a sounding cymbal, and in the tent of King Saul he danced to timbrels and the twang of sackbuts after he ran to meet Goliath and toppled him with a stone.
