Many Groups Supply Goods

THE need for relief supplies in many parts of the world continues to be strong. In crisis situations such as those in Somalia, Angola, southern Sudan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, and Iraq, increasingly it is the United Nations - often its Department of Humanitarian Affairs - that makes a consolidated appeal for funds.

The actual delivery of goods purchased by donations to the UN is accomplished through numerous nongovernmental organizations, which also solicit donations on their own. A partial list of those based in the United States follows:
