Blossom in Paris (NBC, 8-10 p.m.): Not for everyone, perhaps, but this made-for-TV-movie has a built-in viewership, thanks to a title character with a large and faithful following among teens - and some others - in her TV series. On a visit to her estranged mother in Paris, Blossom (Mayim Bialik) hopes for a blissful reunion but soon starts noticing a young Parisian waiter. Back in the United States, Vinnie (David Lascher) sells his motorcycle, buys a plane ticket, and comes to Paris to regain Blossom's affections - with awkward results.

About these ads

A Word from Our Sponsor II (NBC, 10-11 p.m.): Anyone who's talked back to an absurd commercial may find this format appealing. A sequel to last year's program, it lets Phil Hartman of ``Saturday Night Live'' play host as we view some of the more inventive or outrageous ads on TV - from the US and other countries. Little-known commercials, late-night no-holds-barred pitches, animal tricks, and other devices are among those showcased in this strange collection of ideas about how to make you want to buy things. * FRIDAY

House of Representatives (C-Span, beginning at 10 a.m., E.T.): The channel's regular live coverage. * SATURDAY

MTV Jams Live (MTV, 1-2 p.m.): The musicians do jam live on the performance-based series premiering here, but what viewers will see is a tape made last month before a live audience in a club-like setting. The focus is ``R&B'' - rhythm and blues - with an opener that features the male groups Tony Toni Tone and Shai, and the female group Sisters With Voices, who are joined by actor and rapper 2Pac. The hosts are Bill Bellamy - who already hosts ``MTV Jams'' - and Jossie Harris, one of the ``fly girls'' from the Fox series ``In Living Color.''
