Footing the Haiti bill

IT'S bad enough that US taxpayers are about to be hit for $5 million to pay off the murderous thugs who ruled Haiti for years. But that's not the worst part.

Salaries and job training will be provided for members of the Haitian military and police who lost their jobs when Aristide took power. Eventually, the ex-cops and soldiers will work a new Haitian government jobs program. Given their history, they doubtless will try to extend their power over other Haitians. That should not be permitted.
