Into it: Aidan Quinn

Aidan Quinn, movie and television actor, what are you ...

... Reading?

I'm reading Science of Mind, by Ernest Holmes. Also Eckhart Tolle, the "Now" book [The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment].

About these ads

... Watching?

I'm starting to go through movies - as an Academy member you get sent all the movies - but I haven't had a chance with my schedule. I don't really watch TV. I can't. We're moving to a new house and we're going to get TiVo, I guess. So maybe I'll start watching. [For now] I just watch sports on television, or the occasional documentary. I love all sports: NBA, tennis, volleyball; I'm a sports guy. But the amount of commercials I just can't take.

... Listening to?

Oh, a wide variety of stuff, from Gregorian chants to Van Morrison, depending on my mood. I listen to what my daughters are listening to, Gwen Stefani [in the case of] my older daughter. I'm constantly bombarded with that! But my huge discovery in music was Steve Earle. I think he's just the most unsung talent out there. I've been listening to him for a few years now, but I can't believe that I missed him for 20 years.

Aidan Quinn, who stars as an Episcopal priest in the forthcoming NBC series "The Book of Daniel," appeared in the two-part HBO miniseries "Empire Falls" in May 2005, and has played roles in such movies as "Michael Collins" and "Legends of the Fall."
