Which will it be? Cities vie for 2007 'most intelligent' award

At first glance, Dundee, Scotland, and the Gangnam District of Seoul, South Korea, would appear to have little in common. They are, after all, on opposite sides of the world and represent completely different cultures. Both, however, are among seven candidates to be named the world's 2007 Intelligent Community of the Year. No, this isn't an IQ award. Instead, it is based on which nominee is judged to have done the best job of creating prosperity through development of the broadband economy. The honor, which went to Taipei, Taiwan, a year ago, is bestowed by the Intelligent Community Forum, a nonprofit think tank based in New York that focuses on broadband economic activity. On May 18, one of the following will be named the Intelligent Community of the Year:
