Palestinians rally for vote on UN status upgrade

GAZA CITY - (AFP) - Thousands of Palestinians gathered across the West Bank and Gaza on Thursday to demonstrate their support for a fresh attempt by president Mahmud Abbas to secure upgraded UN status in New York.
