This cast is of the so-called Hobbit skull discovered on the island of Flores in Indonesia in 2003. Scientists continue to argue over how to classify this piece and other skeletal remains found in the same location: do they represent a species distinct from Homo Sapiens, called ‘Homo Floresiensis’?
