Children take part in Olney, England's Pancake Race on Tuesday. The town's famous pancake race is held every Shrove Tuesday, featuring women who have lived in the town for more than six months. The event dates back to 1445 and is believed to have begun when a townswoman late for services on Shrove Tuesday at the Olney Parish Church ran down High Street to make it to the church, still clutching her frying pan and wearing an apron.
