South Sudan has currency. What's next on the to-do list?
On July 9, South Sudan became the world’s newest country when it separated from the North. It now needs to accomplish a host of nation-building steps big and small. From the new country’s to-do list:
On one side, the new paper money will have an illustration of John Garang, the deceased leader of South Sudan’s independence movement. It will display symbols of South Sudanese “culture and wealth” on the other. It is expected to have a one-to-one value with the North Sudan’s currency.
