Royal engagement: Who is Kate Middleton?

The relationship between Middleton and William did not begin in a way that was all that different from many other college romances. According to the author of the book "William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls," Middleton first caught William’s eye when she participated in a fashion show as a freshman, walking down the runway in black underwear covered only by a see-through dress. They moved into the same off-campus house with other friends the next year, as many college students do – and perhaps most typical, they only acknowledged their relationship later on, when it was disclosed by a mutual friend as part of the college drinking game, "I've Never."
