In his own words: a statement from Gitmo detainee Binyam Mohamed

About these ads

A private jet carried former British resident Binyam Mohamed to London Monday after being held at Guantánamo Bay since September, 2004.

Accused of working with Al Qaeda, Mr. Mohamed was first held in Pakistan, then Morocco, before being transferred to the US prison camp in Cuba. Charges against him have been dropped. But if the statement he released today – saying British intelligence agents were complicit in his torture – is any indication, controversy is only going to grow over the circumstances of his arrest, interrogation, and incarceration.
