World's most handsome man? Bruno!(Read article summary)
Bruno Kettels – or 'Mr. Bolivia' – edged out the competition in the two-week-long 'Mr. International 2009' contest in Taiwan this weekend, extending Latin America's beauty pageant dominance across both genders.
Latin America continued its beauty pageant dominance this weekend, but this time it was a man who made the continent proud.
In a sea of tweezered eyebrows, manicured fuzz beards, and guyliner, it was chemical engineering student Bruno Kettels, or "Mr. Bolivia," who emerged victorious, edging out the runners-up from Spain, Lebanon, France, and Poland.
Mr. Kettles is now the most handsome man in the world. And he won, not just due to his commitment to rigorous daily workouts, but also because of his manners, reports the Pakistani daily The News
"He has a great body, he spends at least two hours in gym daily," said Christine Huang, the executive chairwoman of the Mister International 2009 World Finals Committee. "I think he is still at school and he doesn't have any bad habits. I've spent two weeks with him and I can't find any bad habits. He is just like a well-behaved big boy, I think he won because of his sincere heart."
As the new "Mr. International," Kettles receives $5,000, advertising contracts valued at $45,000, lessons from a personal fitness trainer, and a range of beauty products. He also now has the mission of traveling the world for a year to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Another Latino winner in this year's contest was Luis Nuzzo of Venezuela, who won the Mr. Congeniality title.
Venezuela, long a mecca for beauty queens, is home to the current and previous Miss Universe champions. Stefania Fernandez edged out runner-up Miss Dominican Republic in August and received the crown from last year's winner, her countrywoman, Dayana Mendoza.
