About these ads

The One X was generally liked by critics, who praised the speed, power, and feel of the phone.

"[T]he HTC One X is a beautiful piece of kit," wrote one reviewer. "It's stylishly designed, light, has a cracking screen and comes with enough future-proofing to make us believe our grandchildren may still have one... In short: the rivals better step it up in 2012 if they want to stop the HTC sparking a big revival for the popular smartphone brand."

But that big revival never came. Reports last summer indicated that the One X was "underperforming," and that HTC's overall sales, in the months after the One X was released, were slipping. According to Bloomberg, HTC recently dropped off the leader board of the top five global smartphone brands – a list currently led by Samsung and Apple.
