4. Don't Be Cruel

Elvis Presley released "Don't Be Cruel" in 1956 and is another song written by Otis Blackwell. Don't Be Cruel was his biggest hit in 1956. The song was recorded at RCA studios in New York City. During the same marathon recording session on July 2, 1956, Presley also recorded '"Hound Dog" and "Any Way You Want Me." Presley did 28 takes before he was satisfied with Don't Be Cruel. Hound Dog took 31 takes.
