The International Monetary Fund is expected to approve $1.7 billion package to Pakistan next week, the largest loan it has ever made to a developing nation, monetary sources said. The loan package carries fewer conditions than have been required in the past, as part of the the fund's new policy of being less stringent with requests from poorer countries.
