Marcos weighs new steps on rebels after attack

President Ferdinand Marcos threatened to step up government action against guerrillas after an Easter Sunday grenade attack on a church congregation which killed 11 people and injured more than 170. Police believed the two blasts in a cathedral packed for Easter mass in Davao City were the work of Communist guerrillas of the New People's Army (NPA). No group claimed responsibility.

President Marcos, condemning the attack on innocent civilians, did not specify what new m easures the government might take.
