Nuclear arms foes meet in West Berlin

A European nuclear disarmament conference opened here with some 3,000 delegates expected. But no East European peace groups accepted their invitations.

Among those expected to take part were American activist Daniel Ellsberg and Petra Kelly of the West German Greens Party. The purpose of the meeting is to coordinate peace campaigns and warn the world of the dangers of the nuclear arms race.
