Western reporters barred from seeing Mrs. Bonner

Soviet police barred Western reporters from visiting Yelena Bonner, the wife of exiled dissident Andrei Sakharov. She had summoned the reporters to a press briefing, but two uniformed militiamen blocked the street entrance to her apartment bloc and said it was forbidden to see her. The move indicated the Soviet authorities have decided to isolate Mrs. Bonner, who, in a press conference last Friday, underlined her concern about her husband's health.
