Signs of spring

Peach trees in Chilton County, Ala., have blossomed a week earlier than normal this year. Here, Jimmie Harrison sprays herbicide on his family's 30-acre peach grove. The trees will reach full bloom by mid-March, and will be ready for harvest in May. The Harrisons sell most of their crop from a stand along Highway 82.
