Metro areas with largest foreign-born populations

Almost by definition, large urban areas have diverse populations, but they still vary widely on a percentage basis. Metropolitan areas of 5 million or more people with the largest proportion of foreign-born residents, according to the latest US Census data:
Los Angeles/Riverside/Orange County, Calif. 29.6%
San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose, Calif. 28.3%
New York/Long Island, N.Y./ northern New Jersey 22.8%
Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas 12.8%
Boston/Worcester/Lawrence, Mass. 12.5%
Chicago/Kenosha, Ill./Gary, Ind. 12.3%
Washington/Baltimore 11.9%
Detroit/Flint/Ann Arbor, Mich. 7.4%
Philadelphia/Wilmington, Del./Atlantic City, N.J. 5.1%
