A boy holds a kite set up on a grave in the cemetery of Santiago Sacatepequez, Guatemala, on Nov. 1. Dating back 112 years, the tradition of flying kites in the cemeteries of Guatemala integrates the Catholic feast of All Saints with ancient Mayan practices of honoring the dead. It is believed that the kites connect the living and the dead on this day.
