The last of the "Toy Story" franchise, this bittersweet 2010 Pixar movie centers on what happens to Andy's beloved toys as he heads off to college. Accidentally given away by his mother, the toys land, as Monitor critic Peter Rainer describes it, "inside the precincts of the suspiciously cheery Sunnyside Day-care Center," and spend the rest of the movie in a "jailbreak escapade." Kids will love seeing the familiar, offbeat toys from "Toy Story" 1 and 2, and their slapstick efforts to gain their freedom, and parents will relate to the sweet sadness of watching their kids grow up.
