Today is the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day. In 1911, the first year the day was celebrated internationally, women could not vote in most countries. Today, women serve as presidents of nations and corporations.

How can I get involved?

The Google International Women’s Day website provides links to dozens of organizations that focus on everything from female empowerment to economic security to female health as well as information on the worldwide “Join me on the bridge” campaign. Go here to find out where your nearest gathering is.

Meanwhile, the International Women’s Day website has a full listing of events around the world that allows you to find events in your community and the Women’s Information Network is streaming live celebrations from New York to Los Angeles that honor women around the US.
